Crafted with precision & intricacy, this sentimental piece serves as a reminder of the strength & devotion found in faith through Christ Jesus, the Son of God, who was crucified for the sins of all humankind & raised from the dead on the third day so that all might have salvation & a personal relationship with the CREATOR.

HISTORY & SIGNIFICANCE
Hotan, located in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, is renowned as a major source of jade, particularly nephrite (also known as "soft jade" or "white jade"), and has a long history of jade production and trade, with the Yurungkash River (White Jade River) being a significant source. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Historical Significance: Hotan, formerly known as the State of Yutian, was a major transport center on the Silk Road, and its jade resources were highly valued, with the king of Yutian sending jade as tribute to inland rulers. [1, 2]
- Types of Jade: Hotan is known for its white jade, particularly "suet jade" (a type of nephrite) and black jade, both used for making ornaments like finger rings, bracelets, and seals. [1]
- Kunlun Mountains: The major deposits of Hotan jade are located in the Kunlun Mountains, and some jade is still mined there, though the quality is generally poorer than that found in the rivers. [1, 2]
- The Yurungkash River: The Yurungkash River, also known as the White Jade River, is a significant source of alluvial jade deposits, and the light-colored jade found there is called "mutton fat" jade. [1, 2]
- Jadeite: While Hotan is known for nephrite, jadeite, which is a different type of jade, is also found in the region and is even more valuable. [1]
- Cultural Significance: Jade has a long history of being used in China as a symbol of purity and indestructibility, and Hotan jade has been used in jewelry, handicrafts, and funerary rites. [1, 4, 6, 7]
- Current Status: While the amount of high-quality jade found in Hotan has diminished, the area remains a significant source of jade, and the jade trade continues to be an important part of the local economy. [2, 8]
- Uyghur Culture: The vast majority of the residents of the prefecture are Muslim Uyghurs and live around oases situated between the desolate Taklamakan Desert and Kunlun Mountains. [9]
- Jade Trade: Jade, a precious stone commonly used by Han Chinese as an amulet, has transformed the Silk Road city of Hotan into a major commercial center in China's restive northwest region of Xinjiang. [10]
